Hi, I’m Helen, I’m married with 2 children (one a dancer/budding solicitor and the other an aspiring Ice Hockey Player)and a crazy Cockerpoo called Leo!
It’s a privilege, albeit sometimes a very hard one, to help guide and support people at what can be some very distressing parts of their life. I have laughed and cried with clients and rejoiced with them when their case was concluded.
I have been part of the Forrest Williams family since March 2012 and have grown my career through their support, it really is a great place to work! Joining Forrest Williams was an amazing opportunity to help the people we serve and know that what I do matters to other people too. Aside from a few modules on EU law at university, I joined with no formal legal training but what I did have was a background in customer service and corporate relations and the desire to learn. I found that learning about the law in my role as a paralegal gave me the desire to go back to university (alongside all of my ‘mum duties’) to qualify as a solicitor after 4 years of study.
When I get the chance to relax it’s a quiet night in with my husband; a nice film, glass of wine and a take-away (Chinese if I get my choice) and maybe some salted caramel Haagen-Daaz if I’m really being indulgent – but most of my spare time it’s spent rhinestoning dance costumes for my daughter or stood freezing at the edge of an ice rink across the country watching my son.
